2026 Volkswagen Caravelle 1.5 TSI evo2 eHybrid 4MOTION
The 2026 Volkswagen Caravelle eHybrid brings together spacious MPV practicality, premium comfort and plug-in hybrid technology. Designed for families, business transport and long-distance travel, the new-generation Caravelle offers 7-seat versatility with individual seats that can be moved and removed to create different cabin layouts.
Its powertrain combines a 1.5-litre TSI evo2 turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with electric drive motors and a 19.7 kWh lithium-ion battery. The petrol engine produces 130 kW and 250 Nm, while the complete hybrid system produces 180 kW and 350 Nm.
The Caravelle uses a 6-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. One electric motor drives the front axle while another electric motor can drive the rear axle, providing all-wheel drive when additional traction is required.
Performance is impressive for a vehicle of its size, with 0–100 km/h in approximately 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 190 km/h. When fully charged, the battery provides an electric-only range of up to approximately 90–95 km, depending on the specification and test conditions.
The Caravelle can also be charged using AC charging up to 11 kW, while DC fast charging is supported. Volkswagen states that the battery can be charged from 10–80% in around 26 minutes using suitable DC charging.
